Bieber And Chris Brown Set For New Year's Collaboration

Pop prince Justin Bieber is set to release a collaboration with Chris Brown just after the New Year, it has been revealed. The singer has already worked with an extensive list of stars including Usher, Kanye West, Ludacris and Sean Kingston, but apparently Brown is the latest singer to have made his recording wishlist.

While it is not currently known whose album the collaboration will feature on, Chris Brown had no hesitation in showing his enthusiasm as he posted the news on Twitter yesterday: "ME and @justinbieber got a BANGER/SMASH record for all the fans out there at the top of the NEW YEAR!!!"

Although neither artist had confirmed about their collaboration until yesterday, Bieber placed a thinly-veiled hint to his followers on Twitter all the way back in October when he said: "Kinda hyped rt now. for a new single teamed up with one of my friends and an artist I used to sing covers of on youtube. BIG RECORD. SMASH!!" The ‘Baby’ singer then proceeded to post a link to a video of him singing a cover of Chris Brown’s 2007 hit, ‘With You’.

It is a risky situation for Bieber, who is one of the first artists to work with Brown since the infamous assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna. Despite having gone through extensive legal proceedings and therapy since the incident, many artists still treat brown as somewhat of a liability. One person who is not afraid to buck the trend is R&B songwriter Keri Hilson. Speaking to MTV news earlier this month, the singer declared: "People are already putting [Brown] back in their good graces, 'cause they see his remorse. I know people are saying, 'Is he really a man? You have him on your album.' I mean, yeah. To me, a man is someone, you don't go backwards in life. You learn from your mistakes, and you don't do it again. You show remorse, and you move on. You move forward onto bigger and better things. That's a man’s trait."
